Engraving by the German painter Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld (March 26, 1794 - May 24, 1872) This illustration was published the first time in "Die Bibel in Bildern"(1860) (Bible with engravings) and is showing how Noah curses Ham. The page is photographed from an original book dated 1866. Digital restoration by gldburger. When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, he said, "Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers."
